How to get a wedding blessing in vietnam?
April 8, 2010 - Posted in Vietnam Vacation
Both myself and my girlfriend are british and would like to have 1 month travelling to Thailand, Cambodia and vietnam. We would like to get a wedding blessing in vietnam before returning to England and legally marrying at a registry office. How do I go about getting a wedding blessing in vietnam? Is there anyway I could organise this myself?
you can go to vietnam and ask them if you want a good answer, or there is always email

Don’t you have to be married first to get a Church blessing?
Anyway, there are many Catholic churches in Vietnam, especially in the South. Other denominations are in the minority and will be difficult to find.
Friends who have had church weddings here have had mixed experiences. the main problem being language between the Church priests and foreigners. But it has been done (marriage not blessings).
Given you are only in Vietnam for a month I doubt you will have the time to organise this as it has taken friends considerable time to organise things in the past.
hope that helps.

I don’t know about a "blessing" but getting married in a Vietnamese Catholic church is not so simple. It took me about a month of planning and was a pain in the butt. Even on the day of there were still hoops to jump through.
The Catholic Church in Viet Nam is like any Catholic Church, they take what they do very seriously (not a tourist attraction). Now, if you want a blessing from a Buddhist monk, you won’t have any trouble.
